Project Highlight: El Toro: La Cocina & Market
Since its founding 10 years ago, El Toro has built a reputation for the best authentic Mexican and Honduran food on Orange Blossom Trail. However, with the growth of Orlando in recent years, the popular street is now flooded with competitors seeking for the attention of tourists and local businesses alike. Keeping the value of quality cuisine and paying homage to the soil of Mexico and Honduras, we seek to give El Toro a fresh coat of paint in its branding.

Keeping the value of quality cuisine and paying homage to the soil of Mexico and Honduras, we seek to give El Toro a fresh coat of paint in its branding. Our objective is to communicate the unique identity of a restaurant and grocery that appeals to tourists and local businesses (Spanish and English speaking), while standing out from competitors.
Challenge
Challenge
Orange Blossom Trail is busy and El Toro is surrounded by competitors left and right. It’s important to create a brand that is vibrant and different from nearby businesses to stand out. It’s also important to quickly communicate what El Toro is to tourists and passerbys.
Solution
While the symbolic nature of the
bull is typically powerful and aggressive, the logo approaches the free spirited aspect of this amazing animal. The toro is about the journey while not straying too far from its humble roots. The vibrant colors represent both Mexican and Honduran cultures and the Primot font matches the swiftness of the bull. It was important to create a look that represented both a grocery and restaurant.
